Over the last month and over the next month THE MISSILES have been and will be continuing to record their new album.  An early title is EXPLOSIVO due to the sound that we have got.  It doesnt sound like anything we have put out before and it may come as a shock to hear that there will be BASS GUITAR on the album.  We will also be recruiting a bass player for LIVE shows.  The idea for the sound that we are going for is for the speakers, weather they be headphone, car or hi-fi to sound like they are about to explode and ANY volume.  ROKK.

Thre super-hot super-rokkin tunes with more of a classic rock influence than before.  One of the tracks has re-cycled the Hocus Pocus riff from the band Focus.  Finally this awesome riff can be played in rock clubs without having worry the yodlephobics!!! (Although I LOVE the original!! - Ed)

WAVE 105... (01/06/10)
Hmmmmmmmmm.... Interesting band won the Bon Jovi competition.  Like Jack Johnson and The Lighthouse Family, but with a Saxophone.  Sounds like really nice call-centre hold music.  I was wondering that during the set, will the music volume periodically duck and a voice cut in with a voice saying "your support is important to us, please hold and Bon Jovi will be with you shortly", yeah... probably.  We would have loved to play at the O2 and got so close but the "competition winners" stigma is a good bullet to dodge when you are trying to be a (in)credible ROKK band.

We have seen the first storyboards for the Whiskey Rokkarolla video and we are very excited.  It looks to be a perfect reflection of our personality, rokkin with a light-hearted party vibe.

We have been approached by a tour agent from America who is interested in us touring with a real legendary classic rock act who cant be names yet.  As soon as any new news comes in, we will let you know, This will clash with the Motorhead show (that we may not get anyway) so we hope to have some good news to firm up soon.

SOUL CELLAR GIG... (21/05/10)
We are playing the Soul Cellar for mINtSOUTH this coming wednesday and we willl be pulling out ALL THE STOPS and making sure that it is our BEST gig to date.  We will be airing some new material and are likely to be VERY DRUNK.  Come and join the fun.

Lennons Gig... (17/05/10)
We played Lennons nightclub on Saturday.  It was a good show that we all enjoyed but we were left with a sour taste in our mouths.  This was due to the fact that the band we played with were supposed to be a rockin dirty garage band, and I am sure that they and the audience thaought that they were... but they were well wide of the mark... they were basically razorlight.  Polished perfect songs and the punters were loving it.  They could play radio1's big weekend right now and the kids would just go mental for it...  I said to one guy who watched us that maybe we need some new more pop/dancy songs to get us out there.  His reply was "f**k that, youre the new Zeppelin" and I suppose hes right...  Screw guitar pop, we are rokk, just need to await the vintage rock revival thats on the cards and we're 100% ready to roll when it does...  Viva la revolution!!!

THE MISSILES MISIC VIDEO (14/05/10)
Ed and Tim had a meeting with Amber Pictures yesterday to thrash out some ideas for the first Missiles video.  The video will be for the song Whiskey Rokkarolla and feature a new kind of whiskey and its potant effects.  Its going to have a series of fake ads within it which will be able to break off as virals.  It all sounds super-cool-no-messin!!

Joiners gig with Broken Links... (25/04/10)

We had the pleasure of opening up for the quite excellent "Broken Links" at their EP launch show on Saturday.  It was a last-minute step in by The Missiles.  We got to the Joiners in time for out no-sound-check slot and the soundman was was his usual uncheerful self.  Coming up onto the stage and saying "I want you lot off within 20 minutes".  Nice.  Then my amp decided to die which he later told Alex (Intrum Records) that we should "get that f**king amp sorted.  Yeah, thanks for that.  We rocked the place for 4 songs and very much enjoyed it.  Andrzej from Max's records was there so it was cool to catch up with him but the overall gig was bitter-sweet.  Highs - Getting to know a good new band in Broken Links.  Rocking the Joiners for a short burst and getting a few more witnesses to the Missiles show.  Lows - Amp going down and Captain Happy at the Joiners.   PS After playing at the joiners in various bands for the last (almost) ten years I am sickened to say that if I dont ever play there again I would be quite happy.

Writing the new album... (20/04/10)

Been writing some songs but cant seem to decide on the direction of the next record.  Some tunes sound like ACDC, some sound like Free.  As the sun's out I have been listening to Neil Young and CSNY, summer music.  HOWEVER, the missiles is loud drinking music... hmmm...  Is it a good idea to deviate at this early stage? Probably not.  There is a great riff in a Jeff Beck jam that I have used and am reworking, will have to get legal permission to release it but will be posting a demo on YouTube soon.  Also listened to the radio on the way to work today and Can The Can by Suzi Quatro came on, the drum beat at the start is super cool no messin, maybe work a touch of glam into the sound, it would fit the logo!

As we are all stuck working our day-jobs.  Timmy The Key is breaking down doors, Lisa Science is being well science up doing important science stuff and I'm writing this as its such an awesome day outside no one wants to buy what I'm selling (we wont go into specifics bit I am in sales and I am awesome... dollar, dollar, bills, yall...)
So my heart doesn’t go out to all those that are stuck in other countries, enjoy it, have a new adventure, do something you have never done before.  If you are supposed to be going abroad maybe on holiday and your stuck at home, go and see something in your home-town that you have never seen before, go to a museum, check the tourist information in your area or go back to work and quot moaning.  Too many people are going on holiday for an April anyway, thats why god created June.

Another drunken gig... (19/04/10)

We did a gig at The Talking Heads in Southampton at the weekend and we were D*R*U*N*K in spite of this unprofessional ness we made some new fans.  Sometimes we are more rock n' roll than the players of well crafted music.  The punters all seemed quite shocked as to how "mental" the show was.  Its fun to get up and play when you have a buzz on but not to be as drunk as we were.  SO we have decided to have some booze before and a lot after and not the other way round!!  The night was good though and we would like to say that Andrzej Batt from Maxs Records is clearly a living legend who we hope to work with in the future.  If you are a band trying to get on a good night, heck out http://www.myspace.com/maxsrecords .
